Commitment to sustainable sourcing of fish and seafood
A film entitled ‘The End of the Line’ has just gone on general release in the UK and in cinemas worldwide. The film focuses on issues relating to the sustainability of commercial fisheries and in particular on bluefin tuna.

The species on the IUCN endangered list are regularly reviewed and the group does not currently supply any species on this list. M&J Seafood were the first in foodservice to initiate a self imposed ban on the sale of bluefin tuna, shark and orange roughy.
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an independent, non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable fisheries by using an eco-label to identify seafood products certified to its environmental standards. M& J Seafood and Brakes were the first in foodservice to offer MSC approved products and are proud to offer the largest range of MSC certified foodservice products in the world.
M&J Seafood was awarded the Sustainable Future Award at the annual Seafood Awards in May 2009.
